Hi! I’m Nga.

And Baby Brawlers is a little piece of my heart.

I’ve always loved creating things with my hands. Long before Baby Brawlers, crafting was how I relaxed, expressed myself, and shared the things I loved with other people.

In 2019, I opened a little Etsy shop after making baby onesies I couldn’t find anywhere else. Some of my favourites were BJJ-inspired designs, and before long, I was making custom pieces and sending little creations to families near and far.

I loved knowing that something I had dreamed up and made could become part of someone else’s memories.

I just didn’t know yet where that would eventually lead me.

Then I became a mom.

 

When our daughter was born in 2021, I started dreaming up all the little Mommy + Me and Daddy + Me moments we could have with her.

For our family, that naturally included martial arts.

My husband has been part of the martial arts community for years and owns Legacy, so gyms, tournaments, fight gear, and martial arts culture have long been part of our everyday life.

I wanted our daughter to be part of that world too—even if she was still crawling.

I started looking for a tiny gi she could wear to support her dad at tournaments, for family photos, and eventually for a BJJ-themed cake smash for her first birthday.

 

 

I found one, but I remember being surprised by how difficult it was to find martial arts apparel made specifically for babies. There were options here and there, but not the selection, accessibility, or little details I kept imagining.

That idea stayed with me.

Then we did it all over again.

A few years later, we welcomed our second baby.

And once again, I found myself looking for those same tiny fight-family pieces.

Tiny gis. Little fight shorts. Things that felt like the gear Mom and Dad wore—but made for the littlest member of the family.

That little idea I had carried with me since becoming a mom suddenly felt a lot bigger.

With encouragement from my husband, I finally decided to stop searching for what I wished existed and start creating it myself.

And Baby Brawlers was born.

Baby Brawlers began slowly and thoughtfully, built between raising two little ones, busy family days, life at the gym, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with being a parent.

At its heart, it combines so many pieces of our life: my love of creating, our family's connection to martial arts, and the experience of being parents ourselves.

I wanted to create the little things I had once been searching for—and then share them with other fight families.

For the baby crawling around the mats while Dad trains.

For the little one cheering for Mom from the sidelines.

For the first tournament, the first family photo, the first birthday, or simply the first tiny gi hanging beside Mom and Dad's.

Because sometimes the smallest member of the team deserves their own gear, too.

Baby Brawlers is for fight families.

For parents who love the culture.

For little ones growing up around the mats.

For the memories we make together along the way.

And for the next generation of little brawlers. 💕🥋
